«Le Rendez-vous» is the literary fiction novel by Justine Lévy, published by Pocket in paperback (176 pages, in French).
In a café near the Sorbonne, Louise waits for Alice, her mother, who has shown no sign of life for over a year. While she waits, she reviews her eighteen years and what she wants to say to her; happy and painful memories surface, with tenderness, anger and resentment. The forgotten child gives way to a determined young woman who will no longer suffer over a failed meeting.
The work was originally published in 1995 and won the Prix Contrepoint in 1996.
For readers of literary fiction and French narrative, with a story centered on the mother-daughter relationship.
