Fifteen years of peace and prosperity in the Three Countries are threatened: the Tribe seeks revenge, the clans dispute power, and foreigners bring new weapons and religion. While a prophecy weighs on Lord Takeo, his daughter and heir grows up surrounded by conspiracies, divided loyalties, and a tragedy that seems inevitable.
Fourth and final installment of the Le Clan des Otori saga, published in the Folio collection in 2021; the original title is The Harsh Cry of the Heron (2006) and the French translation is by Philippe Giraudon.
Aimed at readers of historical fantasy, with clan intrigues, codes of honor and a world inspired by feudal Japan.
