«Le Voleur» is the young-adult novel by Jan Needle and Smahann Joliet, published by Flammarion in paperback (155 pages, in French).
Kevin's family is going through problems: his father is in prison for theft, his mother suffers a nervous breakdown, and his older sister, Tracey, supports the household. When Kevin steals some candy and shares it with his friends, he gains a reputation as a thief. Shortly after, a bill disappears from a teacher's purse and everyone accuses him, even Tracey.
The edition belongs to Flammarion's Castor Poché collection and was published in 1999.
Aimed at a young-adult audience: the plot takes place in a school setting and addresses the weight of an unjust accusation.
James Albert Needle, known as Jan Needle, was an English author. He wrote over thirty novels, as well as books and plays for adults and children, books of criticism, cartoons and radio and television serials and series.
