«Le voyant» is the biography of Jacques Lusseyran written by Jérôme Garcin, published by Gallimard in paperback (184 pages, in French).
The book tells the life of Jacques Lusseyran: blind from the age of eight, he joined the French Resistance at seventeen, was arrested by the Gestapo and deported to Buchenwald, where he survived. Garcin champions this forgotten writer, author of 'Et la lumière fut', who later taught literature in the United States.
Jacques Lusseyran lived between 1924 and 1971. Published in 2015, the book won the Prix Relay des Voyageurs.
For readers interested in the Second World War, the French Resistance and biographies of little-known historical figures.
