«Lectura Obligatoria» is a young adult novel by Carles Durà i Herrero, published by Tabarca Llibres in paperback (144 pages, in Valencian).
It presents a game of stories within a story: two everyday lives intertwine through open questions and allusions to the classics. The text ironically addresses the reader who approaches the book out of school obligation and champions the pleasure of reading.
It is Carles Durà i Herrero's first novel and number 54 in the Tabarca youth collection.
Aimed at young readers, it is used as required reading in secondary schools and has didactic potential for working on values and emotions in the classroom.
