«Léon et son croco» is a children's story by Magdalena, published by Retz (32 pages, in French).
In an African village with intense heat, Léon falls into the river and faces a crocodile. The tale is written in sonorous verse, with a sing-song air and one sentence per page; the drawings, in ink and watercolor, have an agile stroke.
Published in 2007. Illustrated by Zaü.
Suitable for early readers: short phrasing and nursery-rhyme rhythm.
Magdalena is the original version of the given name Magdalene and is used in West Slavic, Hungarian, German, Lithuanian, Dutch, Swedish, Norwegian, Spanish, Georgian, and other languages.
