«Leonardo - O Primeiro Cientista» is the biography of Leonardo da Vinci by Michael White, published by Publicações Europa-América in paperback.
The author argues that Leonardo da Vinci was not only a great Renaissance painter, but also the first modern scientist. The work traces his insatiable curiosity and his practice of directly observing nature and the human body, an approach that, according to Michael White, anticipated experimental science centuries before the Enlightenment.
The paperback edition belongs to the Grandes Biografías collection from Publicações Europa-América and is written in Portuguese.
It will appeal to readers of history, art and science who wish to delve deeper into the figure of Leonardo da Vinci and the origins of the scientific method.
Michael White was an Australian social worker and family therapist. He is known as the founder of narrative therapy, and for his significant contribution to psychotherapy and family therapy, which have been a source of techniques adopted by other approaches.
