«Les appétits d'Urbain Pilupe» is the novel by Christian-Yves Lhostis, published by H&O in paperback (155 pages, in French).
The novel follows Urbain Pilupe from his childhood in the 1950s to adulthood, on a journey marked by a wandering adolescence, the liberating eroticism of a Flower Power community, and the encounter with Lily von Stup, a transvestite he falls in love with almost unintentionally. In the tradition of the coming-of-age story, it narrates briefly and intensely whether the protagonist will stay true to himself, reject compromises, and forge his own path amid tenderness, humor, and emotion.
Work published in 2004 with 155 pages and text in French.
Suitable for readers of contemporary French literature and agile coming-of-age novels with an eccentric character, as well as for those seeking short stories about identity and personal freedom.
