«Les bruixes» is Roald Dahl's children's novel, published by Estrella Polar in paperback (208 pages, in Catalan).
Real witches don't look like the ones in fairy tales: they dress like ordinary women and are therefore hard to recognize. The story follows a seven-year-old boy who, with only his grandmother's help, faces the Queen of the Witches and all the witches of England to thwart their sinister plans. An adventure full of suspense and black humor, with Roald Dahl's characteristic style.
Part of the Biblioteca Roald Dahl (EP) collection from Estrella Polar. Catalan translation by Manuel Florensa Molist, with illustrations by Quentin Blake.
For young readers aged 12 and up and for adults who want to rediscover a classic of children's literature.
Roald Dahl was a British author of popular children's literature and short stories, a poet, screenwriter and a wartime fighter ace. His books have sold more than 300 million copies worldwide. He has been called "one of the greatest storytellers for children of the 20th century".
