«Les cygnes sauvages» is the autobiographical account by Jung Chang, published by Pocket in paperback (634 pages, in French).
Jung Chang reconstructs family memory through three women: her grandmother, a concubine of a military warlord; her mother, a communist official; and the author herself. Their lives span China's transformation, from the end of the Celestial Empire to the Cultural Revolution and Tiananmen, and show the impact of ideology across several generations.
The French translation is by Sabine Boulongne and the edition is from 2011.
Aimed at readers of history and memoirs who want to approach 20th-century China from a family perspective.

Jung Chang is a Chinese-born British author. She is best known for her family autobiography Wild Swans, which has sold over 10 million copies worldwide but is banned in the People's Republic of China. Her 832-page biography of Mao Zedong, Mao: The Unknown Story, written with her husband, the Irish historian Jon Halliday, was published in June 2005. Reception of the work by academics has been largely negative, though the work has received acclaim in the popular press.
