«Les Rêves des autres» is John Irving's collection of seven short stories, published by Seuil in paperback (228 pages, in French).
The book brings together seven stories in which life in small towns seems calm and orderly, until crisis and scandal break through the facade of disciplined characters. John Irving combines satire of conformism, unbridled imagination, burlesque humor and certain passages of a more intimate tone, with depth and humanity.
It belongs to Seuil's Cadre vert series. Original title: «Trying to Save Piggy Sneed»; translation by Josée Kamoun.
For readers of short fiction and literary fiction, and for those who want to discover John Irving's facet as a short-story writer.
