«L'escarabat d'or» is the adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe's story by Anna Gasol and Toni Moras, in paperback (70 pages, in Catalan).
A down-on-his-luck man named William Legrand finds a golden beetle on the beach and, shortly after, his behavior becomes strange. His servant Jupiter attributes it to the insect's bite, but the discovery hides something more: in his possession there is a cryptogram that would point to where the famous pirate Captain Kidd buried his loot.
It is part of the «Biblioteca Escolar» collection (no. 8) and is an adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe's original short story «The Gold-Bug».
Recommended for child and young readers, and as school reading for learning Catalan.
