«L'estiu dels papafigues» is the realist novel by Eglal Errera, published by Cruïlla in paperback (64 pages, in Catalan).
The story follows Rebecca and Dahoud, two teenagers who fall in love and discover the intensity of first feelings: the presence of the other, their voice or their smell transforms everything. It also looks at the gaze of adults and how their families react when the relationship seems threatened. Rebecca tells it with sensitivity and tenderness.
Work number 147 of the El Barco de Vapor Roja collection, in Catalan, translated from French by Aurora Ballester i Gassó and illustrated by Raquel Marín. Published on June 5, 2008.
For young readers aged 12 and up.
