«Lettres de la Grande Blasket» is the collection of letters by Elisabeth O'Sullivan, published by Editions dialogues in paperback (180 pages, in French).
Between 1931 and 1951, Elisabeth O'Sullivan writes from the island of Great Blasket to George Chambers, an English scholar, letters about the life of a fishing community marked by seasons, storms and privations. It is the portrait of an Irish island in decline. Hervé Jaouen's translation preserves the author's voice.
