«L'Homme sans qualités, tome 2» is the second volume of Robert Musil's novel, published by Seuil in paperback (1090 pages, in French).
Musil uses the last year of Austria as a pretext to raise the essential questions of modern man. The work combines narrative, philosophical reflection and irony, with small fragments of life treated in depth and a gaze of universal scope.
Translation from German by Philippe Jaccottet; 1995 edition.

Robert Mathias Musil was an Austrian philosophical writer of novels, short stories and plays. His unfinished novel, The Man Without Qualities, is generally considered to be one of the most important and influential modernist novels. Musil published his first novel, The Confusions of Young Törless, in 1906.
