«Liebesgeschichten» is a collection of short stories by Adolf Muschg, published by Suhrkamp in paperback (170 pages, in German).
The stories in the volume explore love and human relationships from the everyday: misunderstandings, disappointed expectations and well-intentioned lies that do not constitute a crime. Muschg conceives them as procedural reports that can also be read as love stories.
The work originally appeared in 1972; this 1976 edition is the third (Dritte Auflage), from the 21st to the 28th thousand. It is number 164 in the Suhrkamp Taschenbücher series.
For readers of short fiction in German interested in the nuances of romantic relationships and in twentieth-century Swiss literature.
Adolf Muschg is a Swiss writer and professor of literature. Muschg was a member of the Gruppe Olten.
