«Lippels Traum» is Paul Maar's children's fantasy novel, published by Oetinger Verlag in hardcover (228 pages, in German).
Lippel, a lonely boy, lives a dreamlike adventure in which his stray dog Muck and his companions Asslam and Hamide also appear as the royal palace dog and a prince and princess from the Orient. The boundary between school and a realm of desert, palm trees and horses blurs, and Lippel becomes the protagonist of a journey that may not be just a dream.
First installment of Paul Maar's «Lippel» series. Originally published in 1984, it won the Österreichischer Kinder- und Jugendbuchpreis in 1985.
Recommended for readers aged around 10 and up, especially those who enjoy fantasy, oriental tales and adventures.
