«L'obsession anti-américaine» is the essay on anti-Americanism by Jean-François Revel, published by Plon in paperback (299 pages, in French).
Revel analyzes animosity toward the United States and separates fact-based criticism from that driven by inherited ideologies or emotional rejection. He also contrasts how America is perceived worldwide with what the United States actually is, and examines its role as the sole superpower after the end of bipolarity.
The book bears the subtitle «Son fonctionnement, ses causes, ses inconséquences» and was published on August 22, 2002. Jean-François Revel was a member of the Académie française.
Work for readers interested in geopolitics and international relations, particularly in the analysis of anti-Americanism.
