«Los delitos insignificantes» is the novel by Álvaro Pombo, published by Editorial Anagrama in hardcover (200 pages, in Spanish).
The novel follows the encounter between Ortega, a middle-aged homosexual writer, and Quirós, a young unemployed man. What begins as a luminous, festive friendship gradually darkens, leading to eroticism and a tragic ending. Pombo addresses loneliness, identity, and the fragility of human bonds in a contemporary urban setting.
First edition published in 1986; number 34 in the Narrativas hispánicas collection.
For readers of literary fiction and contemporary Spanish narrative with an interest in complex characters and moral dilemmas.
