«Los desorientados» is the contemporary fiction novel by Amin Maalouf, published by Círculo de Lectores in paperback (518 pages, in Spanish).
Adam is an emigrant who returns to his homeland after the death of his friend Mourad, twenty-five years after the war scattered the group of friends who shared his youth. In that reunion, the novel interweaves nostalgia for a lost world with the weight of diaspora, identity, and the wounds left by conflict.
The original title of the work is «Les désorientés» and the Spanish translation is by María Teresa Gallego Urrutia.
