«Los quemados» is the historical novel by Zoé Oldenbourg, published by Planeta DeAgostini in hardcover (424 pages, in Spanish).
The action takes place in medieval France during the crusade against the Cathars. The author combines individual passions and collective tensions: love, hatred, faith and doubt intersect with loyalties and betrayals, in a portrait of an era where religion and political power decided the fate of many families.
The subtitle of the work is «la cruzada contra los cátaros»; this edition includes the translation by Mari Carmen Llerena of the French original Les brûlés. Zoé Oldenbourg lived between 1916 and 2002.
For those seeking a narrative set in the Middle Ages with historical and religious background.
