Discover the fascinating story of the Rothschild dynasty, a Jewish family that has left an indelible mark on the world of finance, politics, and international economics. Herbert Lottman, a renowned biographer, immerses us in unpublished archives and private correspondence to reveal the secrets of this powerful and influential family. From their humble beginnings in the Frankfurt ghetto to their expansion through London, Israel, Spain, and Russia, the Rothschilds have been bankers, winegrowers, industrialists, collectors, and patrons. Despite the challenges and setbacks throughout the centuries, their legacy endures thanks to their family motto: Concordia, Integritas, Industria.

Herbert Roger Lottman was an American author who specialized in writing biographies on French subjects. An influential biographer, he published 17 biographies, 15 of which were related to French culture, commerce, or politics; including works on Albert Camus, Colette, Gustave Flaubert, Henri Philippe Pétain, Jules Verne, and the Rothschild banking family of France. He wrote that, just before dying, Albert Camus was pledged to marry. Camus's estate tried to block his book, partly because of this controversial statement.
