«Los soldados no lloran» is the historical young adult novel by Rindert Kromhout, published by Ediciones SM in paperback (272 pages, in Spanish).
In 1937, Julián enlists in the International Brigades to fight in the Spanish Civil War. His younger brother, Quentin, narrates the twelve previous years: they grow up on an English estate among painters and writers of the Bloomsbury circle, children of Vanessa Bell and nephews of Virginia Woolf. A lie from the past shatters their almost perfect world.
Original title: Soldaten huilen niet. Translation by Gonzalo Fernández Gómez. Part of the Gran Angular collection (no. 299).
Young adult reading from age 14, aimed at those who enjoy historical fiction and stories about family, memory and commitment.
