«Los trabajos del infatigable creador Pío Cid» is the novel by Ángel Ganivet published by Ediciones Cátedra in paperback (466 pages, in Spanish).
The novel follows the exploits of Pío Cid, a character with a melancholy of Quixotic accent that allows Ganivet to delve into the spiritual state of Spain. The narrative, with much that is autobiographical, reflects the author's unease at the decline of his homeland and stands out as an attempt to renew the narrative realism of the nineteenth century.
It belongs to the «Letras Hispánicas» collection (number 176) and features an edition by Laura Rivkin. The novel was originally published in 1898.
