«Los veranos» is the contemporary novel by Ronya Othmann, published by Alpha Decay in paperback (228 pages, in Spanish).
Leyla, daughter of a German mother and an Ezidi Kurdish father, grows up between Munich and her grandparents' village in northern Syria. With the war, both worlds become incompatible: the images of destruction and the indifference of her classmates in Germany lead her to question her place. The novel thus addresses identity, belonging, and memory.
First novel by Ronya Othmann, written in German as 'Die Sommer' and translated by Belén Santana Lopez; volume 171 of the Alpha Decay collection.
A work for readers of contemporary fiction with an interest in identity, migration, and memory; adult and young adult audience from 17 years old.
