«L'ultimo nemico» is the historical novel by Christian Jacq, published by Mondadori in paperback (379 pages, in Italian).
Ramses, in the maturity of his reign, must face his final challenges: maintaining peace with the Hittites, containing conspiracies around Prince Uri-Teshup, and securing his legacy. The plot combines political intrigue, action, and the setting of ancient Egypt, with characters such as Serramanna, the former Sardinian pirate turned head of the pharaoh's personal guard.
Fifth installment of the series «Il romanzo di Ramses». Translation by Francesco Saba Sardi; original French «Sous l'acacia d'Occident» (1997). Edition published in 1998.
Recommended for lovers of ancient Egypt and for those who enjoy stories of great characters with intrigue, feelings, and a touch of magic.
