«L'uomo che piantava gli alberi. Con DVD» is Jean Giono's parable, published by Salani in paperback (51 pages, in Italian).
On a walk through Provence, the narrator meets a solitary shepherd who devotes his life to planting trees in an arid region. The shepherd's tenacity transforms the landscape and brings life back to the territory. The tale is a parable about the relationship between people and nature and about the effect of individual action.
The edition includes a DVD with the animated movie by Frédéric Back, narrated by Toni Servillo.
A suitable read for young people and adults interested in nature and in one person's ability to transform the environment.
