«M» is the young adult novel by Lolita Bosch, published by Cruïlla in paperback (96 pages, in Catalan).
M, a sixteen-year-old teenager, leads a double life: at school he is a good student, but at home his father keeps the whole family terrified. His only hope is to start working soon to get his mother and sister out of there, while the silence everyone keeps seems to drag them toward a tragic end.
It belongs to the Alerta roja collection, volume 33. It won the Premi Protagonista Jove in 2006 and the Premi Crítica Serra d'Or for children's and young adult literature in 2007.
Aimed at readers aged 14 to 16, interested in realistic stories about domestic violence and social denunciation.
