«Machado el caminante» is the children's biography of Antonio Machado by Víctor Vilardell Balasch (Ediciones EL ROMPECABEZAS, paperback, 128 pages).
It reviews the life of Antonio Machado with anecdotes: he wanted to be an actor and, failing that, devoted himself to writing; he did not finish high school until he was 21, endured the nickname «profesor Manchado», was widowed three years after marrying, experienced an impossible love, and war broke out when he was happy in Madrid. Thus the author explains his sad poetry.
Volume 42 of the Sabelotod@s collection and includes activities.
Aimed at young readers from 9 years old, also useful as school reading.
