«Machin Truc Chouette» is the children's picture book by Hubert Ben Kemoun and Véronique Joffre, published by Rue du monde in hardcover (32 pages, in French).
In a village, everyone forgets the foreigner's name, even though the village depends on him for many things. He is the one they send to war, but they don't want him to stay with his family. The story raises the contradiction of needing someone and rejecting them for being different, and addresses racism, immigration and integration.
The work was published on October 21, 2011; the book measures 33.8 x 23.8 cm and is cataloged as Children's and Young Adult.
Aimed at a children's audience, it raises difference and coexistence through the picture book format.
