«Manual de caza y pesca para chicas» is the novel by Melissa Bank published by Círculo de Lectores in hardcover (298 pages, in Spanish).
Jane Rosenal has lived since age eleven with romantic relationships as a battlefield: her mother advises her to «be herself» and so she faces Jamie, her college boyfriend; Archie, a much older editor, and a New Yorker devoted to psychoanalysis. It is a novel with a lighthearted tone and a sincerity that unsettles.
The translation is by Susana Contreras and the English original, The Girls' Guide to Hunting and Fishing, was published in 1998.
It is aimed at readers of contemporary fiction and humor seeking an ironic and lighthearted look at romantic relationships.
