«María de Nazaret» is the historical novel by Marek Halter, published by Editorial Bóveda in hardcover (424 pages, in Spanish).
The novel recreates the life of Miriam of Nazareth, a young Jewish woman in a kingdom of Israel convulsed by Roman occupation. Marek Halter imagines Miriam's ties to the Jewish resistance, Barabbas, the Essenes of Damascus and John the Baptist, and shows her as a fascinating woman who became the mother of Jesus, key to the origin of Christianity.
This Spanish-language edition is from 2010, the first, with a translation by Pablo Manzano Bernárdez, in the Fondo General - Narrativa collection.
For readers of historical fiction and religious fiction interested in the figure of Mary and the origins of Christianity.
