«Marines i Boscatges» is a collection of narratives by Joaquim Ruyra, published by Selecta in paperback (272 pages, in Catalan).
It brings together narratives set between the sea and the mountains of Blanes, with the lives of sailors and peasants portrayed from the author's direct experience. The landscape and language of these characters give unity to the volume, in prose that served as a model for twentieth-century Catalan literature.
This Catalan edition was published in 2004 within the Nova Biblioteca Selecta collection. The volume includes the subtitle «Aplec de narracions»; the work originally appeared in 1903.
Joaquim Ruyra i Oms was a Catalan short-story writer, poet and translator, considered a key figure in modern Catalan literature and one of the great narrators of the 20th century.
