«Martín Fierro» is the gaucho epic poem by José Hernández, published by FisicalBook in paperback, in Spanish.
It narrates the life of a gaucho on the Argentine pampa in the 19th century: forcibly recruited for the frontier, he suffers mistreatment, deserts, and becomes a fugitive. The work reflects social injustices and gaucho customs, with a lyrical, epic, and satirical tone. In the second part, «La vuelta de Martín Fierro», the protagonist seeks to reintegrate.
The work was originally published in two parts: «El gaucho Martín Fierro» (1872) and «La vuelta de Martín Fierro» (1879).
For readers of poetry and classic literature in Spanish, interested in Argentine identity and history.
