«Mecanoscrito da segunda orixe» is the science fiction novel by Manuel de Pedrolo, published by Editorial Galaxia in paperback (180 pages, in Galician).
In the year 7138 of the new era, a manuscript written more than four thousand years earlier is found, telling the story of Alba and Dídac, two young survivors of a catastrophe caused by flying objects. Scholars of the future debate whether it is science fiction or real testimony, and whether Alba is a character or the mother of reborn humanity.
The work dates from 1974; this edition was published in April 1989.
It will appeal to readers of dystopias and science fiction fans, including young adult audiences.
