«Memoria del vacío» is the contemporary fiction novel by Marcello Fois, published by Hoja de Lata Editorial in paperback (272 pages, in Spanish).
It reconstructs the legend of Sardinian bandit Samuele Stocchino, the Tiger of Ogliastra, a peasant wounded in the First World War. Several narrative voices tell how the abuses of local bosses push him to violence, up to the massacre of January 20, 1920 and the hunt for Stocchino by Mussolini.
Volume 8 of the Sensibles a las letras collection. Translation from Italian (Memoria del vuoto, 2006) by Francisco Álvarez González.
For readers of contemporary fiction interested in Italian narrative and the history of Sardinia.
