«Mentre Barcelona dorm» is the contemporary novel by Emili Rosales, published by Columna CAT in hardcover (249 pages, in Catalan).
On the penultimate night of the century, a young executive and a business journalist feel cornered. That same night, an old friend of both, an unemployed university professor, grows tired of living in the shadow of success and love. To reveal what connects them, the narrative goes back sixty years, to a solitary island.
The edition is from 2006 and belongs to the Clàssica collection. The author, Emili Rosales (1968), is also the author of La Ciutat Invisible, winner of the 2004 Sant Jordi Prize.
For readers of contemporary fiction and Catalan narrative seeking a tense story with an urban setting.
