«Ments preclares: El llibre dels idiotes» is the humorous essay by Quim Monzó, published by Libros de Vanguardia in paperback (200 pages, in Catalan).
An ironic repertoire of contemporary stupidity: in bars, restaurants, transport or ads, Monzó finds the idiots around us. The smart alecks trying to take advantage also appear. The chapter «How can I be such an idiot?» reminds us that no one escapes; the ending connects the idiots with artificial intelligence.
Selection and epilogue by Julià Guillamon. First edition published in 2024.
A read for fans of Quim Monzó and humorous nonfiction seeking an ironic look at everyday stupidity.
