«Mindscapes. Psiche nel paesaggio» is the essay by Vittorio Lingiardi on psyche and landscape, published by Raffaello Cortina Editore in paperback.
«Mindscape» is a neologism evoking the relationship between psyche and landscape. Lingiardi proposes the «elective landscape»: a place sought in the world to give form to images already within us. Through psychoanalytic, literary, and neuroaesthetic perspectives, rivers, mountains, ruins, and beaches appear as psychic objects in memory and dreams.
The book, published in 2017 in the Minima series, has Italian text and 264 pages.
For readers interested in psychoanalysis, psychological theory, literature, and neuroaesthetics, and in the relationship between identity, memory, and landscape.
