«¡Mio Cid!» is a short story collection by Antonio Orejudo, Luisgé Martín and Rafael Reig, published by 451 Editores in paperback.
Three contemporary authors rewrite central episodes of the Cantar de Mio Cid, such as the exile or the daughters' weddings, in an ironic and current tone. The work dialogues with medieval epic to show the relevance of its themes and, at the same time, question its values from a modern perspective.
Volume 1 of the «Re:» collection from 451 Editores; first edition published in May 2007.
Aimed at readers of contemporary Spanish fiction who enjoy ironic re-readings of medieval classics.
