«Misterio en Guernica» is the play by Xosé Manuel Fernández Castro, published in 2007 by Baía Edicións in paperback (61 pages, in Galician).
Eight characters, animals and humans, flee a country entering a long night of stone in search of a better fate. Stage by stage, their stories intertwine and, with the arrival of a surprisingly precocious and talkative child, they become the tragic protagonists of a wartime episode immortalized in collective memory.
Second volume of the Barriga Verde collection; the work won the III International Barriga Verde Prize for Puppet Theatre Texts in 2005. The cover illustration is by Xosé Tomás.
Aimed at a young audience aged 14 and over, especially readers interested in theater and collective memory.
