«Mitología nórdica» is a popular essay by Enrique Bernárdez, published by Alianza Editorial in paperback (368 pages, in Spanish).
A popular work that explains the creation and organization of the Norse cosmos and presents the two divine lineages of the Viking age: the Vanir (Niörd, Frey, Freya) and the Aesir gods (Odín, Thor). It then addresses the twilight or final fate of the gods and gathers the main heroic legends; the volume includes an onomastic index and closes with a section on the uses and abuses of this mythology in the modern world.
«Mitología nórdica» belongs to the El libro de bolsillo - Humanidades collection of Alianza Editorial; its first edition was published in 2017.
A book intended for those approaching Norse mythology for the first time and seeking a rigorous yet accessible overview.
