«Mon livre de mots» is the children's picture book by Van Gool, published by SDP le Livre club in hardcover (60 pages, in French).
French vocabulary book for children: a central scene with Snow White and other fairy-tale characters is surrounded by a border with over 500 vignettes of objects and animals, each with its French name, so that little ones associate the written word with the image and learn new words.
The work was published in 2005 and its ISBN is 9782754200141; it is catalogued within children's and young adult literature.
Designed for early readers and for children starting to learn French, as learning is based on the visual association of word and image.
Johan, or Jan van Gool (1685–1763), was a Dutch painter and writer from The Hague, now remembered mainly as a biographer of artists from the Dutch Golden Age.
