«Montand raconte Montand» is the oral autobiography of Yves Montand, with Hervé Hamon and Patrick Rotman, in Seuil paperback (233 pages, in French).
The book stems from long recorded conversations between 1988 and 1990 in Autheuil and Saint-Paul-de-Vence, in which Montand reviews his life: the stage, song, cinema, his relationship with Édith Piaf and Simone Signoret, his time in Hollywood and his trip to Moscow. The text preserves the oral quality of the testimony, unpolished and unrewritten.
Published on October 13, 2001 in the Biographies-Témoignages collection; the ISBN corresponds to 9782020518505.
For those interested in Yves Montand, French song and 20th-century European cinema.
