«Mrs. Grindy's Shoes» is the children's story by Joy Cowley (illustrated by Val Biro), published by Wright Group/McGraw-Hill in paperback (16 pages).
Mrs. Grindy is very fussy when she goes shoe shopping: she tries on and rejects one pair after another while looking in the mirror, surrounded by boxes and shoes of all colors. What seemed like a simple outing turns into a comic scene for the little ones.
Written in English, it belongs to the Sunshine fiction series; its reading level corresponds to grades 1-2 of the US school system (ages 6-7).
A story for early readers, with short text and illustrations that help follow the narrative.
Cassia Joy Cowley is a New Zealand author best known for her children's fiction, including the popular series of books Mrs. Wishy-Washy.
