«Mujeres, manzanas y matemáticas. Entretejidas» is the popular science essay by Xaro Nomdedeu Moreno, published by Nivola in paperback (192 pages, in Spanish).
It traces the history of mathematics through women from very different eras: from Eve and Lilith, Dido and Penelope or Hypatia to Emmy Noether and the scientists Fanya Montalvo and Evelyn Boyd Granville. It alternates biographies and anecdotes with mathematical notions and devotes chapters to Maria Gaetana Agnesi, Sophie Germain, Ada Byron or Sonia Kovalevsky.
Volume 7 of the collection «La matemática en sus personajes». First edition published in 2000; includes bibliography.
A popular science work, suitable for readers interested in the history of mathematics and the role of women in science.
