"Narraciones maravillosas" is a collection of stories published in 1920 by Manuel Chaves Nogales, when the author was only 23 years old. The book presents a gallery of anonymous and everyday characters who, together, make up an archetype of the human being. This edition also includes "Biografías ejemplares de algunos grandes hombres humildes y desconocidos".
Manuel Chaves Nogales was a Spanish journalist and writer. Politically he was a moderate left-wing republican democrat who defined himself as "antifascist and antirevolutionary". As such, he was an enthusiastic supporter of the Second Spanish Republic.
