«Niño soldado» is the testimony of Peter, a child forced to fight in Sierra Leone, published by Ediciones Martínez Roca in paperback (182 pages).
Peter narrates in the first person his abduction at age twelve by the rebel army of Sierra Leone and how he was forced to fight and commit atrocities under the influence of alcohol and drugs. After a decade of civil war, his testimony shows the brutality suffered by child soldiers and the path to rebuilding his childhood.
The work was published on November 16, 2004 in the MR Ahora collection; the author's royalties are donated to a rehabilitation center for child soldiers run by the Spanish Red Cross in Sierra Leone.
Aimed at readers of contemporary history and real testimonies about armed conflicts and childhood.
