«Nits de neó» is the novel by Jay McInerney, published by Columna in paperback (184 pages, in Catalan).
A young man roams the Manhattan of the eighties between nightclubs, fashion shows, newsrooms and loft parties, trying to overcome death and the arrival of dawn with wit, good will and some stimulant. In this anti-quest, he runs to his limit, where he must accept a loss and, perhaps, rediscover his best instincts.
Originally published as Bright Lights, Big City in 1984, this Catalan translation by Carme Geronès Planagumà and Carles Urritz Geli belongs to the Col·lecció moderna collection (no. 2).
For readers of contemporary fiction and for those who want to discover in Catalan the novel that established Jay McInerney as the voice of his generation.
