«¡No es un papagayo!» is the children's story by Rafik Schami, published by Ediciones SM in paperback (48 pages, in Spanish).
A family wants to adopt a pet and ends up choosing a parrot, but the bird does not utter a single word. Little Lina is the only one who knows the reason for its silence, though no one listens to what she says. A humorous story that champions communication between parents and children for better coexistence.
It belongs to the El Barco de Vapor Azul collection (no. 87), with illustrations by Wolf Erlbruch and translation by Marinella Terzi.
Recommended reading for boys and girls aged 7 to 9, within children's and young adult literature.
